The Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners will hold a special meeting at district headquarters to unveil the details of its 10-year plan to improve Baltimore City public school buildings.

In January 2008, my husband and I returned to Baltimore from a week of canvassing for Obama in a frozen New Hampshire. I felt in my bones that Obama would win. And I carried that feeling around for months like the secret of an insane person who believes she’s Christ reincarnate. It only took 11 months for Americans to realize the notion of an Obama presidency wasn’t crazy after all. Though when I hear the voice of President Obama, part of me still believes I’m living in a dream. Here’s to the new normal. And four more years.
